As part of my thesis project (see WILDLIFE OHIO), I'm visiting animal sanctuaries in and around Ohio, though I first spent some time at The Ohio Bird Sanctuary in the fall of 2019. The sanctuary caught my attention when I learned that all 60 + birds that call the OBS their home are birds who could not be released into the wild - be it due to injury, human imprint, etc - but many birds that come to the sanctuary are successfully rehabbed and released. It was clear then that this was an institution for the birds. To learn more, head over to their website at ohiobirdsancturay.com.
